Respy returned On the afternoon of the 9" ins't. H. L. Smith Agt called at this office & stated that the parties named in your communication of this date (Jan 18") were in readiness to start for Lowell that evening (9"inst). I informed Mr. Smith that they could not be sent unless Miss Lowell was notified.

But that he (Smith) could call on Maj Clark & if he would telegraph, I would send them on - he returned with the information that Major Clark had or would telegraph, consequently the people were sent
