Mrs. L. M. E. Ricks would respectfully state that she did not see the written contract, but she heard the verbal contract, with Mr Cook, made by Mr Babcock. Mr. Cook was to receive fifteen dollars per month. His wife ten dollars. The elder son eight dollars and the younger son six dollars. making for the family thirty-nine dollars. They were also to have rations and quarters and a garden spot Mrs L. M. E.
