regard variety and amount of material. The principal group represented in this part of the collection was the Copepoda of which I have made many studies and drawings. Since returning to Washington, I have been unable, from the press of other work, to finish any of these studies, but hope to do so soon, at least as soon as the census reports and the London exhibit have been finished. 

The collections brought from Woods Hole to Washington filled about 550 jars and bottles, 500 homoepathic [[homeopathic]] vials, and 10 large copper tanks. This material has been entirely identified, so far as the species are described. Consisting largely of duplicates, the number of species is not so
