whenever possible.  It is intended that no collections shall be allowed to spoil after they have been received in the Museum. During May the entire alcoholic collection was examined, and all the bottles needing it were refilled or simply filled up with alcohol. It is now in safe condition to be left for the summer.

Duplicate Collections. Mr. Pearce has finished putting up in separate packages the specimens intended for the educational series of duplicates, and this series will be packed and made ready for shipment by the middle of June.  Work on the duplicate sets has been greatly retarded by Prof. Verrill's delay in sending the necessary materials for them, and had he responded promptly-
