Sir: Following is a report of the work done in this Department, for the month of March 1882.

During this month, as heretofore, I have been assisted by Messrs. J. B. Blish, and C. G. Pearce. Mr. Blish has been entirely occupied with the alcoholic collection in the basement, and Mr. Pearce mainly in preparing for distribution the educational series of duplicates. 

The alcoholic collections of East Coast Crustacea and Radiates (Mostly belonging to the collection of U. S. Fish Commission, and constituting the larger part of the East Coast
