the Museum, or Fish Commission, during 1882, was by Mr. Walter Fareon, of the Museum of Comparative Zoology of Harvard College, to whom has been entrusted the collection of freshwater crayfish for study, with permission to publish. Mr. Fareon first examined the collection here, and took with him to Cambridge only about two-thirds of the specimens, which he is to identify and label before returning. The specimens which he left, he has also carefully determined. Mr. Fareon is preparing a monograph of the Astacidae of the world.

The industrial reports by the Curator, above referred to, are a contribution to the Fishery Census of 1880, descriptive of
