GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT MS ACTIONS DURING INSTRUMENT APPROACH

(1) REVIEW APPROACH EARLY, PREFERABLY BEFORE FLIGHT.

(2)IF AVAILABLE TUNE IN ATIS EARLY. WILL TELL YOU WHAT APPROACH TO EXPECT.

(3) AFTER YOU ARE ASSIGNED AN APPROAH, TALK IT OVER WITH THE PILOT. CONFIRM WITH HIM USING WHAT PAGE OF THE LET DOWN BOOK YOU ARE USING.

(4) TUNE IN THE APPROACH NAV AIDS AND IDENTIFY THEM. ALWAYS TELL THE PILOT WHAT NAV AIDS YOU HAVE SELECTED, NAV & STEERING MODE SWITCH SETTINGS, AND WHAT COURSE YOU HAVE IN THE COURSE WINDOW.

(5) TO AVOID UHF CHANNEL CHANGES AND AN INTERRUPTION TO YOUR MONITOR OF THE APPROACH, ASK THE PILOT TO PUT THE VHF ON TOWER FREQ EARLY.

(6) BE READY TO COPY MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURES. IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE HEADING MARKER FOR THE APPROACH, PUT IT ON THE MISSED APPROACH HEADING.
