This afternoon I spent in Cambridge. I wanted to see the entomological collection, as I went prowling thru the Agassiz, and finally found a closed door bearing that title, and after some knockings I roused old Nathan Banks to life, and he came to let me in. He was nice about showing me the things and I spent 3/4 of an hour there, and told him I was coming again. Hubbard is going to find out about the collecting trips Dr. Wheeler takes with students and let me go. 

I have met several times a Mr Hall, who works there at the Bussey and who has Frank Smith's old farm at Dry Pond. This morning we rode out together, and I got to questioning him about his work, which is not unlike Berger's. I said that I knew a man who did that work, -- Berger, and Mr. Hall immediately rejoined, "He's

my boss." It is a C.S. job and he has an office at Bussey. I am trying to get acquainted with as many folks as possible. Though I don't know anything myself, still contact with them at least will put me at my best bluff and I'll get some knowledge from them. I have written old Chippie thanking him for seeing to my C. S. paper and telling him how things are progressing. I've got to do something to propitiate him, when I consider how long it is likely to be before I return.

18 May Sunday AM. I wish I might take an airship voyage down to you. The next time we go, perhaps we shall travel that wise. I suppose the aviators will be steadily on the go across the Atlantic from now on. 

Lena is out today, and we're sitting out on the front porch in the morning sunlight.

I was in Boston all day yesterday. The morning I spent at the Bussey. Hubbard is looking forward to seeing you when you come home, and wanted to know if he couldn't plan to go out collecting some day with you. I said you'd be very glad to go,
