pitying him though. He is a good fellow in spite of his manners.

I got a letter from Dr. Schorer today, she is still in New York, and has taken to typewriting - for her own amusement. She appears to be worried about home conditions now - indirectly having heard her father has died. She has no idea what is happening to the rest of the family and can't get into communication with them.

My Civil Service application came to me for corrections! such pesky little details too, but I am sending it off again & hoping it will suit this time.

I have been mounting all my insects,- about 40 in all, and quite different. I suppose you have a great quantity. Hope you will get some gold and silver ones if they inhabit those regions, and try to find the ground beetles in rotten wood, but don't scare up any other wild animals there.

I miss you - about 7 o'clock at night I begin to feel weepy. Don't linger too long.
Doris.
