Dear Sid:

We got your first letter and I am relieved that all is well, but can't exactly understand about the pay. Did they take it out of your 4 days or allow you to attend AAA meetings? I hope you are keeping warm at the house. The baby wanted me to read over several times that which pertained to the cat, and then announced, "That is a good letter."

Mrs O's daughter telephoned last night (the 3rd) that her mother had had the doctor who said it was laryngitis & ordered her to stay abed several days. I am relieved that she hasn't pneumonia at any rate, laryngitis isn't at all dangerous.

Pa's cough has racked him most of yesterday and that first of the night. After midnight, according to Mrs. Cobb, he lay in a heavy sleep that made Mrs. C think he was failing. about
