acceptable. I have missed you and the baby, but I am trying hard not to think of you too much. I think perhaps I may miss the baby more than she does me. Let me know what you think about returning, about trying to settle things at store... I don't know exactly how to leave things & feel I should make some provision before returning. Doris. Mon. on train fine clear cold day. Had a glimpse of ? dog tooth violet beyond Canton Jn. in the marsh. The cowslips are out, red maples, cherry trees (some) peach, forsythia, and willows. Pa revealed some some names this morning & said himself he felt better, "but none too well". He fussed till I got off fearful I should lose my train, as usual. Geo. McGarvey spent an hour over at the house yesterday & I was afraid it would tire Pa all out. I talked birds with him. He said he saw a wood duck down at the little muddy pond (Canton) last year. He said he was down at Sandwich Sat & saw swallows (must have been ruffled winged), he was surprised at them so early. The arboretum looks green - trees near the city are more leafed out. I hope to hear from you this p.m. Shall I come back Thurs or Fri if Pa continues to feel better? If you think I'd better earlier wire me. Tell Mike I am in Cambridge - maybe I can get credit for a little time put in there, don't you think? D.
