My mother suggests if there are any empty preserving jars, -- the Mason or Ball type such as the huckleberries are put up in, you might bring them home and have some filled to take back.
The basket is rather small for the baby's satisfaction, but she has slept in it this afternoon. My mother has it filled up with stuff "soft," which is rather irregular, I don't know whether the mattress would fit or not, I think it might be too long.

My folks think she looks like the Blakes (my father said "like young Henry") my mother suggests she has your mother's eyes in their expression as well as colour. Perhaps they will be brown after all! My mother said she was better looking than ever I was. Your mother was a mite disgusted at her size,-- all her babies were bigger at the start. Ralph after hearing a great freight train rumble past within 20 ft of her, said "They say she doesn't sleep... I don't believe it."

But I must try to get a nap in. I slept pretty well last night but am tired naturally from the journey. I hope you will get this letter before you begin to worry about us. My father will mail it early tomorrow.

Doris.
