all night.  We gave the old cat a bath and now he sleeps on the couch all day.   His appetite is excellent & he seems to enjoy it here.

Dear [[strikethrough]]Ma[[/strikethrough]] Sid:
It has been a busy forenoon for us.  Doris and I have started on our learning up.  We cut off a few limbs today & started using the big saw on a maple that the last wind blew over between us & Pete's.  The maple had been scraped on one side for 5 feet at some earlier date, - I suppose it interfered with Pete's garden or something, & was thus weakened.  Two such trees have been thus disposed of on his boundary within a few years.  I hope he is satisfied.  But it lies over the path out back & we have to get rid of it.  We will do it slowly and hope to have it cut before you come.
