[[right page]] [[second page of letter]] safely,- the parcel post came this morning. Your card to Maude came to 290 Walnut St too,- guess they recognized your handwriting & thought it was for me. It wasn't very crowded any of the way, and plenty of seats from New Haven on. We passed several trains of all soldiers,- troop trains. In our car there were quite a number, one young fellow opposite was going home from a prison camp in Germany. He got off at Providence and we saw his family greet him with greatest joy. Most of the men wore their discharge insignia. Doris recognized a boy near us as one of the students at Western, and the 2 spent most of the afternoon chatting. He comes from Stonington Conn. & was going home for 226 [[/right page]] [[left page]] [[third page of letter]] the summer & had all his fishing lines & poles with him. I was glad she had a good time. I had a nap meanwhile. Mrs. Barry will go on her vacation after next week. She has one or 2 friends she plans to visit for a few days and then go on to Jersey City to stay with her sister as last summer. Ilga called up this morning. She is leaving today for a short trip but will be back soon & come over. She plans a number of trips this summer, visiting. She hasn't been outside Brockton for nearly 2 years. [[/left page]]
