crazy over diving and talks as much of it as a boy would. She is looking very blooming from so much exercise. I got in a dip down at York but nearly perished walking up the long hill home in the broiling afternoon sunshine.

This morning we are cleaning upstairs. Lena is coming after supper, she wrote, and I am cleaning up the bedrooms to look presentable. I did Mrs. B.'s room yesterday, bedding and all. It was filthy. Today I shall wash Ma's -- I found she had for a sheet a little scrap of cloth -- all there was left of a sheet, and she is that low on them. I must get her enough to sleep between anyhow. Would you have room to bring up a pair - your dirty ones, so I can wash them out up here and leave them. Sheets are very scarce now, but I have plenty down there to last us thru.

That robin gets on my nerves, - chip, chip - all day long.

Doris.

Give the azalea + A. violet a good wetting down before you leave. I am afraid they won't survive.
