Dear Sid:

I'll try to scratch off a letter to you while Doris is still in the bathroom, - there'll doubtless be plenty of time.

She is due to go down town right afterwards to get the cat a fishhead and some groceries for the family. My mother came down this morning quite delighted. She had found that the cellar door was locked and the "poor cat" had used the bathtub. Such an evidence of his intelligence quite compensated her for cleaning it up. She talked about it with relish.
