Dear Sid:

We are having a cool, comfortable Sunday here and hope you are too. The weather has been fine lately here, too cool if anything. Maybe you aren't so blistering now either.

Doris has gone to Episcopal church with Mabel and expects to sing in the choir. The audience usually isn't over a dozen at this season, so it won't be anything very exciting there. Miss Colcord left Thursday. She said she expects to return to Wash D C. Oct 1st, and is a little afraid Miss Hawkes won't, as she is needed in Mass. by her relative who had the shock. Miss C. said, "I may be taking boarders".
Ma has been snoring away on the couch for a half hour. She is in pretty good shape, I think eat and sleeps well
   Doris and I started to clean up the back chamber attic the unfinished one yesterday. We did about a third of it and I have done a little more this morning. It is pretty cluttered Mrs B. had loads of old paper boxes of hats, etc. about and I mean to get them all together and out them in one corner and try to confine her to that corner. I found that box of dishes Charlie Welch gave you years ago - 6 cups + saucers, 6 plates, teapot, pitcher + sugarbowl, - very pretty Japanese ware. I have wished I had it but will not try to take it back till after we get a car conveyance. I will finish the attic before many
