Dear Sid:

I am wondering what you are doing these days and particularly Sunday,- if you are washing & ironing and laboring in general. I hope you are having a good dinner at least with maybe ice cream.

It is muggy here this afternoon. Doris is doing German sentences, and is at lesson XVII -- she did 3 coming up on the train. She had chosen to do only 20 this summer for review. I think studying German in summer has become quite a habit with her. I read a chapter of the Iliad with her this noon & she seemed quite 'interested.'

She is going over to see that crippled girl at Steele's later this afternoon and I thought maybe I would call on Amy for a while.

Mrs. B. and Ma had a little set-to at dinner this noon and Mrs. B. at once said she would clear out with all her furniture, etc. and wasn't going to be treated in any such manner. Such episodes always occur at meal time, and spoil the digestion.
