all yesterday afternoon and had a lot of tales to tell of everyone there. She will leave tomorrow sometime and I think I will give her $25 to help her on the way.

Doris and I mowed the front lawn most of yesterday day p.m. It had gone for 5 weeks, and was pretty tough. We borrowed the Ballentine's lawn mower as ours is impossible. But it is nearly done now and won't need any more for a couple of weeks at least. There is so much to be done, and it is hard work. Doris is good but she ought not to be over-taxed. Yesterday brought on her menstruation again.. I think it was simply too hard work. I must be careful of her.

The cat is wandering about happily. Yesterday Mabel appeared with a 3 month baby she was looking after, and it got to squalling and the cat went under the kitchen stove and looked out with the most scared expression in his green eyes... We all burst out laughing at the sight of his worried countenance. He was so distressed. Ma was too and went off in high indignation, and Mabel at length departed with the infant bellowing all the way thru the grove.

Well - I hope all is well with you.
Doris.
