Last night hl, o I had supper with Irene [[crossed out]]Zahm[[/crossed out]] Zahn in Hochulm. We didn't reach home till 10 p.m. on the bus. Ilga has asked us over to her house next Monday at supper. I haven't seen Ilga for 3 years now and am looking forward to it. Beatrice Monk called up to ask to come up some evening this week. So you see how full of social engagements I am!
I wound up my work at Cambridge last Friday, have brought all my paraphernalia home, and also borrowed 37 specimens to take back to study. My reprints haven't come yet, they say that they send out all they have to mail, then give the rest to the author, 2.5 or 50, but the author has to wait for the other to be mailed apparently. So I left word to have them sent to me in wash at the Nat. Museum.

I'am busy canning the pears, shall do up the last tomorrow (Wed). I got some wild grapes and made a fine grape jam. I have a qt to take rach and leave 2 little jars for my mother.
Maud is coming up with the 2 boys this afternoon.
Houb and I have been swimming roun at York Pond this morning, and I have spent an hour painting down there. I have nearly finished a pretty landscape in the pine woods in Tolmans ~ you go into Indian Oven. It is a pretty painting. Bertha Reynolds was with me this morning. She's having her vacation. I have been leaving my wet picture at her mother's, to save going back and forth.
