she gets a bit confused over the cutting out.

Doris has been over to Leonard's to see Isabel but she finds she is on an all-day work schedule,-$14 a week as soda girl from 9-6. I think that isn't according to law for a 14-year old (she won't be 15 till Oct.) And with so frail a child as she has always been, ti seems as if they must need the money badly. Both she & her older brother are working in stores down town and so is the oldest son in some engineering work at M.I.T.

I think I will go berrying tomorrow if Doris doesn't use the byke. It has been very hot and sultry here now for some days, so I haven't been off, but we are getting low on berries now.

Do you get decent meals at night? And what do you do for lunches? I hope you are managing. I suppose you are planning on your trains now. Are you coming part of the way by bus or by day train? I hop you can break the trip by staying in N.Y. or the other side of it.

Doris. How are the tomatoes?
