Dear Sid:

I have just come home from chopping down some little seedling trees that are coming up in the orchard grass over at the old place. There are millions of little maples about 6 inches high there and I can't go pulling them all up. I have been wondering if you could mow them down with a scythe when you get home. I'll have a blade sharpened, so to have it in readiness. Unless we do it now I am afraid the place will be a wilderness in a little while and very hard to clear. 

Pete was out last evening and when I spoke to him I realized that he had been aching to talk over things with me and tell what he wanted to do with his land and he wanted to know where
