Dear Sidney,-

Glad to get your letter this morning with the picture and to know that you were back on the regular routine again and that you all got along so well while Doris was up here. I have been up to her father's once since I took her to Boston Sunday night- that was after I got through work Wednesday night and her and Mrs Holmes & Lena were all sitting out in the yard. Enjoying the afternoon sun. He told me he had sent in his resignation but they wouldn't let him see any of the papers and he didn't like it very well. I guess he misses Doris running down town for him. He had a check from G.M. for 15.75 which he wanted me to cash and Lena wanted to give me $25 Cash for a check for $25 to send away so we did quite a lot of swapping checks and I hope no one got stuck. He was quite pleased with the check from G.M. but said he hadn't been up to see him. I haven't seen G.M. announced as a candidate for Assessor yet but look for it any day- Fred told me
