How is this for paper?

My Dearest Emmie,

There isn't anything to write you about but I wanted to say something to my dear girl.

You don't know how much I wanted to turn around and go back to you again last night.

Somehow or rather I never fell like myself when I am away from you dear; and that's the truth.  It rained most of the way home but I didn't mind that as I was thinking of you most of the time and not of the rain.

Now don't think me soft; will you dear.

It has blown a perfect hurricane here all day but I have painted just the same and also sworn for the sand flew around so that it filled my eyes and pallet to say nothing of the canvas. The easel also fell over into the sand some half dozen times: more or less. so you see I had cause for swearing. I hav'nt smoked since that eve. that Nelson's gave me the cig. 

Now cant you congratulate me or say I have done well or something.

Oh, darling I forgot to thank you for the flower you sent. It was not because I was not pleased you may be sure of that. Now dear
