Do you know that, in spite of his denial to me, I think he is a good deal gone on you. That is exactly what I think. It may be jealousy or it may not, but that is what I think. Would you mind telling me exactly what you think? I really dont think I would have written as he did if [[strikethrough]] hes [[/strikethrough]] it had not been so. Please dont say that I mentioned this matter, but it seemed funny that he should rush right off and deny it before he was accused I guess he would have had to write sometime if he waited for me to speak of it. 

I am sorry I wrote you anything about it but I am such a fool I tell you everything. (and yet you can't I have no faith in you) You see a fellow never can say just what he thinks in such a case in writing: therefore he is a fool to mention it. Therefore I am a fool to have mentioned it, but now I have mentioned it will you tell me what you think him? but who on earth are you engaged to?

That is the all important question. Had a long letter from F.S. all about Sunday in A. And do you like him? No? Also had one from W.P. Newton. Did I write you about the theatres here. They all have bars under the balconies with barmaids to sell and mix the drinks. Horrible looking wretches I believe they call them pretty here. 

In the variety theatres they have racks on the back of each seat for glasses and the waiters come around and get orders. My darling you dont know how I wish you were in Paris with me. How would you like to go to Paris? I wish I was there. I could send you any quantity of styles for new dresses. And they are styles too. None of this strung together look that these English have. Will have to stop now as the as the [[story?]] is getting dinner. Dinner being over I will proceed. We had a large time here Thanksgiving. Mr. Graves told Mrs. Fletcher about our
