celebration on that day and all about the turkey &c. So she went and got the old turk and stuffed him, and had the cranberry sauce, and all the fixings, also Christmas pudding, the regular English plum pud. She is real good about those things and she is very jolly. She got indignant with yours truly last eve. because, when someone asked what breed her dog was, [[strikethrough]] she [[/strikethrough]] I said I thought it was a full blooded cur. She says she will never forgive me. I guess she will though.

She has a lot of Xmas cards that she is going to send out to Johny's (thats the dog's) friends. I think Lunch's photos are fine. I thought you had one. I think those of the portrait are fine too. That is I suppose I shall when I see them, which I have'nt yet. Mr. Graves and his young lady are here and seem to enjoy themselves hugely. You dont know how I envy them. Speaking about presents, I have struck something fine in the way of pres. Will let you see them when I get home and maybe let you near them

if you are a real good little girl. They are jewels in the shape of old coins &c.  [[strikekethrough]] were [[/strikethrough]] made to represent real old jewelry. Im not worth a button at describing, so will have to let you [[wate?]] till you see them, but they are stunning. 

I would send them only you would have to pay the duty on them and that would be a healthy way to make a present. By jove I hav'nt thought of it before but I have got a beastly tooth ache. It aches about every 5 minutes, then stops for 5. Just now it is going full blast. It is'nt the one I bought. That one has'nt ached yet. You dont know how I look forward to coming home and to seeing you and maybe to having long walks with you and possibly to sitting on piazza [[page torn and text missing]] small [[page torn and text missing]]
