[[\strikethrough]] 31 times and the time before this was the first time he had been delayed and that was only 3/4 of an hour. There is an old Englishman on board who looks like an antiquated jockey [[image -sketch profile of man in hat]] I will try to get a sketch of him before I get ashore. He is very funny Then there is a devine who styles himself the Rev. Harry Jones. Now how is that for a combination? The Rev. Harry, I think is very funny. What do you think. He has a head as large as a bushel basket and drinks large quantities of all kinds of liquors. He has a great mind and also a

My Darling Emmie,

Nothing great has occurred so far. Yesterday some of the machinery broke down and it took them 5 hours to mend it; so we lay 5 hours in midocean flopping about like a shingle in a millpond.

I have had two of my fits since starting but dont tell mother so. If she should ask you just say I said we were [[strikethrough]] k [[\strikethrough]] getting along splendidly. They really were not bad ones. I suppose[[strikethrough]]d[[/strikethrough]] if I have wished once I have wished a hundred times that I was back at Ashmont where I could go over to see you every evening, but here I am about 1700 or 1800 miles away and still going. I suppose I shall keep on wishing that until I get back once more and dont say a word but if any of the fellows come back next summer, I come too. I dont think I can stay away from Adams St. any longer
