"Ye have very comfortable Quarters down where you are". We told him we had about the same that the other cabin passengers had. He said Oh! I beg pardon I thought you were in the Intermediate. Now when he passes we say Intermediate and he don't seem to like it. Then we have the "fool" a girl who looks like that Hill girl on G. str. the sister to the one that Maud took singing lessons of.

Among the nice people are a Mr. Preston an architect and his wife; I dont know the wife but she looks like a nice lady. A Mr. Ames an old gentleman "more than 48", who does nothing but travel for the fun of it, and that's about all the people who are decent. We have made one or two sketches but nothing great.

I got one of the Captain that was quite decent and one of Frank while he was at work. Frank also got one of a ti of the steamer that was good.

I shall begin one tomorrow if I am feeling well: it not I shant.

I saw my first whale the other day and survived the shock also [[strikethrough]] saw [[/strikethrough]] saw a shark the next day and steamers and sailing vessels innumerable.

There are three or four young couples on board and you dont know how I envy them (except their see sickness.

I hav'nt exactly got my hand in on writing letters yet and so I think this will be rather a disjointed affair. Anyway you know that I mean all right so will think better of this first attempt than other [[?people]] would.

Frank has just finished and left me to write in peace. I never could write with any one sitting side of me.

Guess I'll stop for this even as it is getting late.

Good night darling.
