model. One model came but she was engaged three [[strikethrough]] wre [[/strikethrough]] days a week to a sculptor and so we did'nt want her. She said she would send [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] another but as usual she did not. 

Then we went out after our [[strikethrough]] cis [[/strikethrough]] costume but the old woman had closed or not opened. Considering the fact that it was a good half hour walk over to her place we were rather mad. I was going for another model over the other side of the river but was so tired that I could not get up the courage; so went into the Louvre and looked at my favorites. I saw more English speaking people there today than any time since I have been in Paris. I met Reid in there and we wandered around a while and then walked up toward home. 

So one more day has gone and

nothing has been acomplished. How the time flies; here it is almost Xmas and the [[strikethrough]] winte [[/strikethrough]]  winter is half gone at Xmas. I have done absolutely nothing to speak of. Monday aft. we start with our class under Mr. Dannat. He is one of the very strong American painters here and he has kindly consented to teach some of the boys and luckily I got into the class. I don't know if I told you about it; if so you will forgive me for repeating it. 

Well most of the strong Americans belong to it. By strong I mean the ones who draw and paint the best. It is sort of a technical term. Well we have got quite a good studio quite near here and I hope to get along all right.
