It is too bad that blessed child didn't get his toy for Christmas. I went down to the Express office and there they assured me the box couldn't have been lost, it was the "Christmas rush," as I sent it the 6th of Dec it ought to have got to you before the rush, they are going to hunt it up - I haven't much hopes of their finding it - I lost a package lately from Paris to the country, so I am in for a series, it seems - I saw your sister Frances, and hope they will come to tea tomorrow and meet Mrs Montgomery Sears daughter who is here for the winter and knows no young girls - The Mellons, my young neighbors, are coming to meet them at lunch later, for Mrs Mellon has broken down with a
