Dont [[Don't]] buy any startling clothes - because they look stylish and "So French."  You will think this superfluous advice but every one seems to be bewildered in Paris and comes home trimmed up - except those who go often like Emily Biddle and Ann Meigs. They always look plain enough.

Tuesday - break 7th Feb

We are so young [[exceeding?]] - Will has read your Book  we ate our breads with thankfulness while his break was getting cold but our hearts were warm - so glad "May" was with you - now Will takes yours to electrify Etta - I must wipe the breakfast cups - Garndma [[Grandma]] looing [[looking?]][[waiting?]]- so much to say - where to begin - all well - is a previous statement - your clock goes on tick-tick - and all the [[appliances?]] are just as you left them ready to be resumed we hope, with joy you will not have leisure for [[housework?]] [[homesick?]]  give our love to May; glad she is not in Boston - now LLB coming soon Aunt Sarah said we expect to hear of their soon - when we shall look for their Room - in pleasant anticipation think of Etta this morning when Uncle W comes with the Kid Star letter & Has Jenny and Cecil with his mouth open greeting.
