There is a picture, life-sized figure of fisher-women mending nets, also a portrait of Mrs John Boyle, the sculptor's wife, by Paris American - Lasar [[Lazar]], perhaps the artist to whom you refer as being a favorite teacher. Both have good qualities, especially the latter, an exhibit after Salon of 86. but I should not think it best for you to choose him as a master.

Your portraits look well - Members of the hanging Committee told me of the of the difficulty of finding a place for that of Travis Cochran; the mass of which made a spot on the wall that was difficult to manage - The both have

The portrait bust of your friend Mrs Brooke-Brown, by her husband, is the only piece of sculpture, an attractive terra-cotta.

I have not yet seen the contributions of Miss Leavitt, and Miss Davis, but Miss Clements sends many other works. The pastel study of a boy (that was "so dusty"!) and a charming little etching.
