bloom - The bed of tulips and hyacinths - The fountains playing and the trees in early leaf. When the sun does shine here, it is so much more beautiful because it has rained so much and our eyes are not used to it.   I got myself a dear little brown coat for $3.90 to wear with my brown plaid dress and I desport also my brown hat and feathers. My Macintosh is very useful and stylish.

I am making a pretty good study this week at the Cours - the model stands like a statue & has bushy black hair I am doing a life size head shoulder and arm on a big sheet of paper. Have begun the composition "Lot's wife"

but shant have time to finish it unless I do it this evening. We have Fleury next week and I shall try to do a good one for him- You ask how I do them. They are done in oil monochrome - brown, black or burnt sienna - on boards such as I used to sketch on last Summer - a little smaller than the one of you and the children - The one I did  The "Supper at Emmaus on was 8 x 10 in.
