naturally, and Miss Clements leaves the city for the first time on Tuesday, but her studio will be open on that day, (except between noon and one o'clock) and on Monday.

She kindly allows me to extend a few invitations to see the portrait, and remembering the pleasant little incident at the art club last September I think that it may have an added interest for yourself, and Mrs Biddle

Was  fortunate in meeting Thouron at Clements' studio,- & had a pleasant chat with him afterwards at the Art Club, where he had some of his old work hung for the monthly Ex.

He is not looking very well - quite thin & sallow - but seemed in good spirits. The Clements start today (June 5) for Gloucester, & expect to find the famille Balch already at Renton's!

Miss Clements tells me of a delightful letter received not long since from Miss Beaux, reporting most satisfactorily of herself, and her works. I too was favored with a few lines from Paris, some after she had commenced studies at Julian's atelier
