A. came in and said that if I took him for my professor I'd go on with it that there was mighty good stuff in it observation and feeling - "You're investigating it - that's right"  Youre starting it in a good way - that is, your own way—"  My studies etc were lying around - One evening I took a charcoal drawing made in the studio down to the beach - and made notes all over in writing of the color, from the model - You know my effect only lasts about fifteen minutes—   I feel as if I could get the drawing and the color - the details and texture all the hardest - and also not enough time—
Mr Harrison told Miss Wright the other day - that I had great talent and of all others ought to stay over next winter—  "She puts brains into her work, and that is what very few women do - I can tell you."

Dear Uncle Will

It is such an age since you have written to me, and yesterday I felt sure, a letter being addressed by you was from you - I never did approve of people's not addressing their own letters—  I send this to 4305 because I think some one at least will be there by the time this gets there—    How glad you will all be when you can say the Summer is over and you can settle down together again - It has'nt contained much fun for you has it?    I am delighted that Etta has had that jaunt to Niagara etc.—  Had an enthusiastic letter from her - and
