Lago di Como.
Oct. 20th 1888

Dear Uncle Will

Leilie is I know trying to write you a letter - but I can't do anything but "out galee" as we call it when our wome [[women]] rathe [[rather]] gets too much for us, and we can't contain ourselves - I thought Luzern was beautiful but now I'm convinced that on the face of the earth there is not a spot that equals Belagio, on this exquisite lake Como. You didn't know all the enjoyment you were giving me, for Leilie says you never came here yourself - Laurie has always raved over Lake Como & made Belle long to come to it - and now I feel like writing to her "see Como and die" Alas that it may be years before they come even East again if they have started back to Portland However they have the Switzerland of America there - I made Leilie quite mad finding likenesses in these mountains
