[[left side]] a lot left over after $865. I now have I am glad the Exposition opens as early as it does for I dont see now what could happen that would make me wish to stay longer than for a peep at it— Staying away only makes me want to go home more, not less— & one has a much more homeless feeling in lodgings than in Pension— May gets her room for $4 a month and of course will share the studio with me for nothing so she will manage to get along. Living as we do now she can spend less than I do and have the benefit of my room - whereas in Pension we should have to spend [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] $9.60 a week including fire and light— [[strikethrough]] We [[/strikethrough]] I save about $5 a month living this way. May saves a little more and every penny counts with her— There is a very nice pension close by my studio where the prices are as above and if we get sick of this in a month we can go there— Being with her makes me very economical, as she simply has to keep down her expenses— [[right side]] 30 rue Vaugirard Sunday Dec. 2a 89 Dear Uncle Will— What a dreadful mistake I have made I find that the paper I struggled so to get off to you day before yesterday should have had all sorts of things done to it, and I sent it only signed.
