I'm quite astonished at your ability as travellers, - & at the cheapness of your trip, - & congratulate you most heartily, for you do seem to have been having a good time right straight along, & to have been very Comfortably accomodated, also, for the most part. Now we want to know that you are comfortably settled in Paris. —— I saw Harrison's three, Hoeber's two, & Grayson's two, at the Acad. of Design in N.Y. yesterday. Harrison's "Midnight" Marine is impressive. Hoeber's seem to have more promise than present performance - good feeling for color. Grayson's nude is just too lovely - isn't it?

I find Hoeber is in N.Y., & I think I shall write & ask him to allow your portrait of him to be exhibited at our Academy. If I had not been so pressed for time I would have called on him about it yesterday. I would have it insured & framed for him, & I don't suppose he would object. # I have rec.d the $1035. belonging to you [$35. is interest up to Dec. 1.] and only wait your final [[afco/asco?]] of the trip, to send you my [[afc/asc?]] of your money. Your grandmother seems quite as well as ever - that little "turn" has left no impression at all. She went down to Etta's yesterday to see the new soft rug in the parlor.

Your Siena and Pisa letter was our breakfast diversion today.— Uncle Will had gone to New York, so could not get the first go at it. You really have had remarkable success in this trip. For two love damsels you have met more good fortune and less of the contrary than could have been expected. I did not suppose you would have been quite so long on your travels, but you have kept far north in your limits as to expense.— That's quite delightful and does "credit to your head as well as your heart." Uncle Will saw the V. V. paintings, and found them very interesting of course. He also saw the Academy Ex. - Some of the Harrisons some of Hoebers.

He went to Brooklyn and found Cousin Julia upstairs on a lounge. She's really far from well and was partly expecting to go home with her [[Turner?]] tomorrow.— She is far from
