My dear Miss Beaux

I was very sorry you did not come on Thursday - but that is the only difference it made Your little state room is all ready for you whenever you choose to come on this delightful ship. Nobody seems to take any trouble about any thing & every thing gets done as if by magic. So you may arrange your

own time. I also wish you might have seen the function for the Canadian Commissioner [[?]]. We made compasses. No more drills any longer out of doors & these final dress affairs are always interesting & pretty. perhaps some other High Lords may come next week for your benefit.

Yours very sincerely
