Dearest Polly—

How lovely it was to get that dear long letter, & to know how you enjoyed the photograph. I thot you would like it - I do.  If Cecil only was there too how perfect it would be!  I would not like to undertake the stylish picture you refer to, it would be a mighty affair to get all those people steady.  By this time you have the little pins from the boys - too bad the box had to wander so much.  We did not have a bit of trouble about the books or any thing, there was 25 cts. duty on the books which the post man forgot to collect—  I think your over flow in your letter was most amusing - you did not tell us any thing we did not know before - how queer it would be to be made that
