My own dear Polly—

I am just home from the Ex. where I went to see, yes I certainly did, your picture—. I feel just as if I had been in communion with a little bit of you, & I liked to see the genial jovial face of your "friend Arthur Hoeber" - How alive he is! It cannot fail to be like him, he is not a beauty certainly, but he looked nice & very too. too. I was interested next to your picture of him, to see his own picture. It is a little boy lying on the sand with the sea & shore in the distance. The boy had on Sabots so I thot' maybe he was one of your little friends of last summer was the picture painted then?
