My dearest Sister—

Just came in from a hunt after a photographer with May - way over in some queer streets we've never been in before —  Had to cross straight through the Luxembourg Gardens to get to it and even leafless they are so beautiful and I rejoice to think I am going to see another Spring in Paris - for it is unimaginably lovely - the fountains, the lilacs the supreme freshness of everything—

Titus today, extremely interesting  Harry Goodwin to be married the first of May! May be they'll come over here—  What fun that will be  I do wish some of my friends would come over on that Engineers steamer—  I am wild to hear Harry play—  How lovely when it's done-

I dont wonder you question my doings this winter but they really started reasonably enough— I was anxious first of all to paint something here for the Salon so that I might have the help which it is only to be here and the criticism of Harrison Lasar etc. but I did'nt expect to be so long over it - and intended to begin going to Julian's by the 1st of Feb certainly - but I found that it was impossible to work at the portrait and go to a cours at the same time as the sittings were irregular and occupied the middle of the day rather than the morning - besides I was too worried and tormented by it - and could
