shovelling—   The papers are very American and interesting——
Think of Phila communicating with New York by way of London. I'm so glad you were all snug at home and no one I care for trying to travel—
I look out all the time for a cap for Grandma, but want to fall in love with one when I get it—  Also same for you but they are no cheaper here even at the bon Marché than they are at home—  The very Frenchy ones, such as we do not see at home, you would not wear—  
My Miss M.B dress looks very well  
I got some lovely silk for the front which hangs in a sort of bag—  
I have worn it twice - to the Estés the other night where May and I went in a Cab - and had the wrong number and

had an awful time finding the place—  Mr Lazar and A Harrison were there and some pretty girls that go to the Lazar class—  Mr Lazar was here the other night and I asked him about Doucet and he said "Oh, you can spread yourself on him, you cant say too much about him" - but he did'nt give me any particulars—  May enjoys him immensely and draws nearly all day—  
I went with Aunt Sarah the other day to the Renaissance Sculpture in the Louvre - and saw Michael Angelo's [[Michelangelo's]] two slaves 
Think of my seeing the very unfinished marble his hands had worked on—   I wish I had that nice little French history of Miss Kirkland's here  I often
