[[left side]] see how I am going to do any big thing out of doors— Pochades seem the only possibility - I have got a good many ideas from Mr Lazar about it and indeed about any kind of painting—— I dont want to do an indoor thing and dont see how I could ever do more than a head out-of-doors - in this changeable and mostly rainy weather— We are consoled by knowing that it is raining every where— I have at last been in A. Harrison's studio and seen a good many of his studies - and got some ideas from him too— Kate Kinsella invited us to tea one afternoon in her studio and I happened to be next A.H. And he sailed in to art which I believe is very unusual with him And we had a nice talk and apropos of painting from memory - he said [[right side]] [[archival note:]] [1888] Sunday July 29— Concarneau— Dear Uncle Will— It is dismal in Concarneau today and I'm going home to Sarah and Beach Haven for as long a time as I can— Rain and rain and rain - and we are shut into our little Ark and are awfully tired of each other - and I think I'm going to have a toothache - feel a queer sensation in a fine big Darby filled tooth in my upper jaw - and what a place this would be to have an ulcerated tooth— I should have to go to a strange [[margin]] Toothache sensations passed over— Books have come and the insides amused us— Thanks for my cuff buttons but I dont even wear collars! The monkey is a charmer and looks like the poodles of Paree— [[Paris]] [[/margin]]
