anchor has enabled me to eat a sort of lunch - I got uncle Will's and Aunt [?'s] notes in Glasgow and was very thankful for them.  But it is cruel that uncle Will is not going to be there to meet me - I wonder if the lot had to be summrased[?] - I hope not - My gratitude to the person who - got it out - of the custom house for me -  
We saw York and Durham and Edinboro - went to the top of " Castle and [?] Mary Queen of Scots private rooms  Saw her bit of blanket etc. Aunt [?] has too! I thought of her much in E_ and we drove past Knox's house and the Tolbooth - in fact -

did the places quite thoroughly and - in two days - want more time however next time, but I think we were pretty smart to get ourselves through and off baggage, hotels, shopping & all - now - soon we hope to be in your arms - joyful home - I shant have a cent of money on me when I land - I had to lend my $110 - and have expended a good deal -
