Thursday.

Saw some whales this morning early. Early morning at sea is as fine in color as the evening sunset. We expect to be in port late Friday night. I spend considerable time studying time-tables and have decided to go [strikethrough] over the Midland Route to London. Today is rainy and cold. Our spirits are not dampend by the weather for we are drawing near London. Oh my, think of the pictures I shall see. When I think of it all, I nearly "burst" with enthusiasm. My health is perfect. The trip has done me good. This morning the Captain asked me if I knew Deacon Chester of

About Deacon Chester the captain is [strikethrough] evidently very much in love with the whole family. They crossed
