My dear Parents,
   Bessie's, account of the wedding, was fine and it pleased me; as it gave me material to form mental pictures of that great, and important event. I can tell you I was sorry to miss the affair. To be absent made both Robert and myself feel badly.
  Father’s cable received yesterday. Am sorry you should have worried, and assure you there was no cause for anxiety. Mc.' is nearly well and shall leave in a day or two. He is a good fellow, and has had hard luck. I was for two weeks, there expecting to have a dead man on my hands. I was rushed, and between naps went errands. Sat up for four nights because I could not sleep. But after getting nurses have had an easy time. Am glad I did not catch the dicease [[disease]]. For three days I gave him baths every three hours. We then had no antiseptics and could procure no nurses. Paris is troubled lately by this form of fever. I must be an immune. [[strikethrough]] Fell [[/strikethrough]] Feel perfectly well, and am sure that I have escaped the fever. Don’t worry. Take life etc. Saturday in the Academy I was painting a sketch of the professor’s son. The professor happened in and posed with his son and I was able to make a quick study of both which now adorns the wall in the Academy.

We have an Indian for a model this week in the afternoon. I am doing the best thing of my life. On Nov. 11th we have the most beautiful woman you ever could see for model. I am contented with this school above all others as two or three times each day Delecluse comes
