He said in French on Saturday "God will repay you for these naps you've given me.  I came to you with a cold and was tired, but your warm studio has been a Maison de Sante to me, and the good God will repay although I never can.

He reminds me many times of the old characters of Dickens books.  It is the first time he has ever posed and all the artists are demanding his address so life is going to be easier.

Tomorrow is the last day of the new year, and I hope it will be the most profitable in regards to work - New Years day is a Fete day 
I shall write to Father this week.
I am painting to canvases for the Salon.  Have visitors every day and have to hit the exhibit hard.

Love to all and health, joy and prosperity for the coming year.
I shall see you next June.
