The true effect of a painting comes after some association with the work. People are to ready to judge a picture hastily. One dislikes naturally to form ones own judgement, or to wait til a canvas speaks to you in its own language - A picture should be a companion and friend of ones leisure. My paintings some, you will not like but there are some promising qualities in all of them. Some of the experiments are very bad perhaps.
