it has certainly been one of the days of our lives - We went up some distance on the Rigi - a great mountain in the Southern part of Lucerne - Bess is delighted with everything - and I can imagine your pleasure in the mountains. I am determined to someday make my mark and give you and Father a trip to Lucerne it is a Paradise -
Saturday we hired a boat and I rowed along the shore into small bays by steep weather worn cliffs covered with old pine trees, by small towns to the foot of a small mountain where we ate our lunch. We selected several spots where we should build our castles and had a great time. In the evening we again hired the boat and floated by the terraces listening to the

band concerts and [[strike-through]] not [[/strikethrough]] wondering at the fairy land of boats and lights - It was the most artistic evening I ever spent, and the girls were enchanted by the reflections in the water -
Today is Sunday I have just bought two papers hoping to see something about the medals and mentions of the Salon which were awarded yesterday - but shall not know who among our Club members were successful until Tuesday -
We went sailing Friday it cost twenty cents an hour to hire the boats - The season here does not open until the last of June -
The girls are returning the last of June
